Apple & HP

Apple lost another iPhone prototype in a bar again? Is this an annual event? HP is selling off their cheapest touchpads for $99 and losing $200 per unit but their re-starting production of an updated model soon. They will be writing off about $1B over the firesale. Do you have any clue on why HP would do this?

  1. I'm pretty sure they have spare parts sitting around and they want to recoup some of their losses. (Heard on Dvorak/Horowitz Unplugged podcast)

  2. Another friend told me that recently too. I don't buy stuff that has lines typically. I am looking forward to seeing the Kindle Tablet for $250. I might try that.
